To replace a lost, damaged or stolen garbage cart, or if you would like to downsize your existing cart, please contact Republic Service at 954-327-9550. Please e-mail Republic Services or call them at 954-327-9550 and provide them your information. They will schedule a date to have your damaged cart removed and replaced with a new cart.
Yes, all trash and recyclables should go together in your green cart.
We highly recommend that residents bring their corrugated cardboard, plastic and glass bottles, and steel and aluminum cans to one of our two recycling drop-off centers. By doing this, we can ensure that these materials are being circulated back into the material stream, eliminating the need to harvest virgin material.
Oil, paints, insecticides, chemicals, automobile parts, batteries, tires, medical waste including hypodermic needles and syringes and hazardous waste will not be collected. Learn more about hazardous waste disposal.
Occasionally circumstances beyond the Hauler’s control create delays and may result in a community or part of a community being picked up later than usual or missed completely on their regularly scheduled collection day. Should your community not get service on a regularly scheduled collection day, please leave your trash out as they should come back to collect it on the following day. Call Republic Services at 954-327-9550. If after hours, leave a message on their answering machine with your name, address, date, time and the nature of the problem.
The trash hauler has until 7:00 PM to complete their route each day and sometimes may be running behind for various reasons such as poor weather conditions, a truck breaks down, or they had to change the route due to construction or some other unanticipated cause. On those rare occasions that they might be delayed, every effort to collect your trash that day prior to 7:00 PM will be made. However, should they be unable to complete their route that day, they will collect it the following day.
Did you place your garbage at the curb prior to 7:00 AM? Once the hauler has gone through your community, they will only come back if your garbage was placed out prior to their arrival and they legitimately missed it. The hauler’s trucks have video systems that record their activities. They will review this video to determine whether your garbage was out or not at the time they came through. If it was not out, you will need to bring your garbage cart back in and hold it until your next regularly scheduled pick-up day. If it was out, they will send someone back to retrieve it. Call Republic Services at 954-327-9550. If after hours, leave a message on their answering machine with your name, address, date, time and the nature of the problem.
You will have to bring your cart back in and hold it until the next regularly scheduled collection day. The hauler collects garbage between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Though they try to be consistent, they do not guarantee specific collection times for any particular area. To that end, there are times that they may collect earlier than usual, but never before 7:00 am. That is why it is important to have your cart at the curb by 7:00 am.
The Hauler uses automated trucks with mechanical arms for the collection of garbage. These trucks are only designed to pick up the garbage/recycling cart that you have been issued. Any garbage that doesn’t fit in your cart should be held for your next regularly scheduled collection day, or if you have a friendly neighbor that has room in their cart you may want to ask them if it is ok to put your extra in their cart. The driver will not exit the vehicle to correct these issues. If you regulary face this issue, and require an additional garbage cart, please purchase an additional garbage cart directly from Republic Service at 954-327-9550. The additional bin may be purchased for $75 and includes delivery.
Yes, the cart must be place appropriately at the curb with the front of the cart (the side with the bar) facing the street and not be placed too close to a vehicle, light pole, mailbox, tree, or other object that could potentially be damaged. The driver will not exit the vehicle to correct these issues. Additionally, the cart will not be emptied if garbage is placed on top of it or the lid does not close completely. Also, the hauler will not service the old white recycling bins. If you still have a white bin, please call Republic Services to have it removed. If you need an additional bin, please purchase one from Republic Services at 954-327-9550.
If able, take a picture or video and e-mail to Steve Ramanand with name, contact and a brief description, and/or call Republic Services at 954-327-9550. If after-hours, leave a message on their answering machine with your name, address, date, time and the nature of the problem.

Instead of tossing your gently used items, consider donating them to one of the many local donation centers. Not only will you be reducing waste, but you’ll also be supporting valuable community services that give back in meaningful ways.

Recently, China began limiting imports on recycling. Prior to these new restrictions, 27% of all US recycling went to China. Currently, China is only accepting 3% of US recycling.
Low grade mixed paper and mixed plastics #3 thru #7 now have little market value/demand due to the glut of material on the world market. Much of it gets sent to the landfill.
As more people use the internet for information, the use of newspaper has declined greatly in recent years. The reduction in volume has created a situation where the material has a very low and cost prohibitive market value.
