Single Family Curbside Recycling Program
Coconut Creek’s curbside recycling program is designed to keep recycling simple and reduce contamination.
What Goes in Your Recycling Cart
Corrugated Cardboard
Accepted: Corrugated cardboard boxes
Reminder: Break down boxes before placing them in the cart.
Empty Aluminum & Steel Cans
Accepted: Empty aluminum cans, steel cans, and metal food/beverage containers
Reminder: Empty containers only. No food or liquid.
Empty Plastic Bottles with Screw Caps
Accepted: Plastic bottles and jugs with screw caps
Reminder: Empty, replace the cap, and place loose in the cart.
Do Not Place These Items in Your Recycling Cart

| Glass | Not included in this curbside program and can contaminate accepted materials (Please visit our South Drop-Off Center to recycle your glass bottles and jars) |
| Newspaper | Not accepted as part of this program |
| Mailers | Often contain mixed materials or plastic film that are not accepted |
| Other Plastics | Only plastic bottles with screw caps are accepted |
| Plastic Bags | Wrap around sorting equipment and cause processing issues |
| Bagged Materials | Recyclables must be loose so they can be properly sorted |
| Anything Else | If it is not listed as accepted, it should not go in the recycling cart |
Important Recycling Guidelines
- Place recyclables loose in the cart.
- Do not bag recyclables.
- Bagged material will not be collected.
- Recycling carts with non-accepted materials may not be picked up.
- Please review the accepted items before placing your cart at the curb.
NOTE: No trash, hazardous waste, special waste such as paint, tires, and batteries, bulk waste, or yard waste will be accepted in the recycling carts. For more information on how to dispose of these materials. Please go to coconutcreek.gov/HazardWaste
Recycling Drop-Off Centers
Thank you for doing your part to keep our City green! Your commitment to recycling helps protect our environment and keeps valuable materials out of landfills. To ensure a smooth recycling experience, please review the list of acceptable items and our hours of operation below. Please note that glass is only collected at the South Drop-Off location and not at the North Drop-Off. Please ensure bottles and jars are empty and rinsed, and all lids and bottle caps have been removed! Labels do not need to be removed.
