The City of Coconut Creek will host a Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Drop-Off Event on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 4800 West Copans Road.

The event gives residents a convenient way to safely dispose of household hazardous materials and unwanted electronics that should not be placed in regular household garbage. Drop-off service is free, and proof of residency is required.

Accepted household hazardous waste includes:

• Paint, paint thinner and stripper
• Motor oil, engine coolant and other automobile fluids
• Pesticides and insecticides
• Fertilizers and pool chemicals
• Fluorescent tubes
• Rechargeable, automotive and marine batteries
• Propane tanks

Household hazardous waste that will not be accepted includes:

• Biohazard or medical waste
• Explosives
• Tires
• Waste generated by businesses
• Alkaline batteries, including AA, AAA, C, D and 9V batteries

Accepted electronic waste includes:

• Computers and monitors
• Keyboards and computer mice
• Printers and scanners
• Cell phones
• Televisions
• Rechargeable batteries

Electronic items that will not be accepted include:

• Office furniture
• Stereos and speakers
• Appliances and microwave ovens
• Electronic hand tools
• Trash or debris
