Attention Creek/Margate Water Service Area
City of Margate Water Main Improvements Project – Coconut Creek Service Area
The City of Margate would like to inform residents and businesses of upcoming infrastructure improvements within the City of Coconut Creek within the City of Margate water service area.
A project team consisting of Giannetti Contracting Corporation (GCC) (Builder) and Craig A. Smith & Associates (CAS) (Designer), under contract approved by the City of Margate Commission on April 15, will be performing water system improvements in the area shown in the project exhibit.
The scope of work includes:
· Replacement of existing 4-inch through 12-inch asbestos cement (AC) and cast-iron (CI) water mains with new SDR-18 pressure-rated water main piping
· Installation of ductile iron (DI) pipe along and beneath Coconut Creek Parkway
· Replacement and re-connection of associated service laterals
· Fire hydrant replacement and system upgrades
· Installation of fittings, valves, and related appurtenances
· System improvements to enhance hydraulic performance and increase available fire flow within the service area
· Installation of a 12-inch horizontal directional drill (HDD) canal crossing for water main tie-in along Coconut Creek Boulevard between NW 43 Avenue and NW 42 Avenue
At this time, the work you may see occurring in your neighborhood consists of subsurface utility investigations and topographic surveying. These activities represent the initial phase of the design process, which will be used to develop construction drawings and plans.
Construction is currently anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
The City appreciates your patience and cooperation as we work to improve the reliability and performance of the water distribution system serving this area of Coconut Creek through the City of Margate utility system.
