Moment of Silence

Join us at the Recreation Complex, or pause wherever you are, on your own or with friends and family, for a moment of silence as we remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. The observance begins at 8:46 AM, the time the first plane struck the World Trade Center.

Immediately following the Moment of Silence, representatives from Coconut Creek Police and Fire Rescue will begin a commemorative stair climb - equivalent to 110 flights. 110 floors/flights of stairs is a tribute to the firefighters and other first responders who climbed the towers on September 11, 2001.

  • CreekFIT members are invited to participate by signing up for a 20-minute climb interval in person at
    CreekFIT North.
  • Residents can also take part from their own gym or at home. Share photos of your participation and tag our first responders at @creekfirerescue and @coconutcreekpd.
