Co-Ed Instructional Basketball Program 2026
The Co-Ed Instructional Basketball Program is designed for boys and girls to have fun, stay active, and learn the fundamentals of basketball in a supportive environment. Participants will build skills through instructional clinics and games focused on teamwork, sportsmanship, and player development.
Program Details
- Instructional program for boys and girls ages 7 to 8
- Age requirement: participant must be age 7 to 8 as of August 31, 2027
- Includes 2 skill-building clinics and 8 instructional games
- Coach-refereed games with no scorekeeping
- Same day practice and games
- 40-minute practice and 20-minute game with 4 to 5 minute quarters
- Jersey, shorts, and basketball included
Schedule
Skill-Building Clinics
Dates: Saturdays, July 18 and July 25, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Instructional Games
Dates: Saturdays, August 1 through October 3, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM
No games on September 5 and September 12. Dates are subject to change depending on registration numbers.
Fees
- $120 for Coconut Creek residents
- $170 for non-residents
Resident Verification Requirements
To qualify as a Coconut Creek resident, provide:
- State-issued driver’s license or valid passport for identification
- One of the following as proof of residency:
- Valid voter registration card
- Water bill
- Cable bill
- Electric bill
Bills cannot be more than two months older than the submission date.
Credit card payment only.

Volunteer Coaches Needed
Volunteer coaches are needed for the season. If interested, contact the Recreation Complex at 954-956-1580 or email CreekSportsGirlsBBall@coconutcreek.gov .
Applications and background screening with fingerprinting are required.
Youth Sports Coach’s Incentive Policy
- Discount valid for 1 head coach and 1 assistant coach; discounts cannot be combined or stacked
- Discount applies to only 1 child per team, per sport
- Coaching multiple children in different age divisions within one sport qualifies for additional discounts
- Coach must attend at least 80% of games and practices
- Coach must maintain good sportsmanship as determined by the league coordinator
- No degrading remarks, profanity, unsportsmanlike conduct, yellow cards, red cards, or infractions from referees or league coordinators
- Coaches must attend training and rules presentations conducted by Parks & Recreation staff prior to the season
- Head coaches receive a $50 discount and assistant coaches receive a $25 discount at the end of the season if all requirements are met

- Bring proof of residency and a copy of a birth certificate for each minor on the account for legal guardianship and age verification
