Broward County Waterway Cleanup

  • The City of Coconut Creek Parks Division is seeking volunteers, both youth and adults, to help preserve our parks by assisting with litter and debris collection throughout the City’s parks, protected preserves, and waterways; we will be participating in the 49th Annual Broward County Waterway Cleanup.
    • All volunteers will be provided with gloves, a picker, and a bucket
    • High school student volunteers are eligible for volunteer hours
  • All ages welcome
    • Children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult
  • Saturday, March 7th  
  • 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Free to participate
  • Held at the Community Center, 1100 Lyons Road, and at Donaldson Park, 900 NW 43rd Avenue
  • Check-in:
    • Community Center; with Parks and Recreation staff at the shelter near the basketball courts
    • Donaldson Park; with Park Ranger at the boat launch
  • Registration details:
    • Register at WaterWayCleanup.org and receive a t-shirt
    • Activity waiver is required prior to participation

Volunteers are invited to participate in the annual Waterway Cleanup on Saturday, March 7, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Community Center and Donaldson Park. Registration is free and available online at waterwaycleanup.org or in person at the Community Center the day of the event.

    • As part of the event, the Marine Industries Association of South Florida is offering over $2,000 in student scholarships for:
      • Recycled Art – $250 (Middle & High School)
      • Short Story – $250 (Middle School)
      • Essay – $750 (High School)
