Transportation & Mobility
The Transportation & Mobility Division is committed to creating a safe, efficient, and inclusive transportation network that supports the community’s growth and quality of life. Guided by our Transit Master Plan, we work to improve connectivity, expand access to transit for all, and provide sustainable options that reduce reliance on single-occupancy vehicles.
Our initiatives focus on reducing vehicle congestion, advancing multi-modal transportation, and implementing traffic calming measures that enhance neighborhood safety. Through long-term planning, strategic investments, and community collaboration, the division is shaping a transportation system that makes it easier for everyone—whether walking, biking, riding transit, or driving—to move safely and reliably throughout the community.

Traffic Calming
The City of Coconut Creek recognizes that the conditions of residential streets can greatly affect neighborhood livability; and that properly designed and placed traffic calming devices can reduce vehicular speeds and discourage cut-through traffic. The Implementation Guidelines for Traffic Calming establish procedures for investigating, designing, constructing and installing traffic calming devices and signage on residential public roads.
Bicycle Network
The bicycle network offers safe, connected routes for cyclists of all levels. Enjoy an active, eco-friendly way to travel while reducing traffic and supporting a healthier community. With well-marked paths linking neighborhoods, parks, and key destinations, it’s easier than ever to ride for work, school, or leisure. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or just starting out, the network encourages a cleaner, more connected Coconut Creek.
City Trailways Master Plan
Coconut Creek is creating new ways to travel without the use of motorized transit. The City’s trailways connect parks, neighborhoods, and community destinations through scenic, pedestrian-friendly paths. Designed for walking, jogging, and cycling, these green corridors promote wellness, sustainability, and a stronger sense of community.
Community Bus Routes
Enjoy a free, convenient, and eco-friendly way to get around Coconut Creek. The City’s Community Shuttle connects neighborhoods with parks, shopping, and community destinations, helping reduce traffic and support a greener community.
Alternative Fuel Parking Spaces
Designated parking spaces for alternative fuel vehicles are available throughout Coconut Creek, supporting cleaner transportation and the City’s commitment to sustainability. These spaces support drivers of electric or hybrid vehicles and together we can reduce emissions and help promote a more energy-efficient future for all.

Mobility Project
During their lifetime, a person will spend thousands of hours driving, walking, biking, or riding. The City of Coconut Creek’s Staff is working to ensure that each of those trips whether in a car, on a bus, bicycle, motorcycle, or by foot - is as safe as possible, particularly for South Florida's growing population. In 2020, the Lyons Road Mobility Project was completed to aid in providing safe mobility options for all roadway users.
