Detective Sergeant Jason Kohlhorst has been a law enforcement officer since January of 1998. He started his career with Coconut Creek as a Public Safety Officer certified as both a firefighter and a police officer. During his tenure with the Coconut Creek Police Department, he served primarily with the road patrol division for twenty-three years. During his time on road patrol, Jason was a patrol bicycle officer and a field training officer (FTO) for nearly thirteen years; training more than fifty new officers. Jason was promoted in June of 2015 to the rank of sergeant and was assigned to a road patrol team. He was selected as a detective sergeant in January of 2021 where he currently serves.
