A native of Miramar, Sergeant Eberly joined the Coconut Creek Police Department in 2000 as a Community Service Aide. A year later he was hired as a police officer recruit and graduated from the Broward County Police Academy in the spring of 2002. He has extensive experience as a patrol officer, a field training officer, and training officer. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2017. He holds a certification as a school resource officer. Sergeant Eberly is also a long time high school and college basketball referee.
