Join the Fire Cadet Program

Are you ready to take on challenges, learn lifesaving skills, and make a real impact in your community?

The Coconut Creek Fire Cadet Program — proudly led by the Coconut Creek Fire Rescue Department — is your chance to do just that. This one-of-a-kind experience gives teens the tools, training, and teamwork needed to grow into future fire service professionals.

We're on a mission to empower the next generation of first responders. As a Fire Cadet, you'll gain hands-on experience, build confidence, and learn what it truly means to serve with heart, courage, and commitment.

What to Expect

Cadets meet every other Saturday for exciting and interactive training sessions that dive into real-world fire rescue techniques.

You'll learn:

  • First Aid and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • How to use firefighting tools and equipment
  • Team-building and leadership skills

But it's not all drills and gear — you’ll also get involved in community events like the annual Butterfly Festival and Butterfly Run, proudly representing the City of Coconut Creek. Plus, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to compete in the annual Regional Fire Cadet Competition in Coral Springs!

Who Can Join?

We’re currently welcoming applications from high school students ages 14 to 19 who are actively enrolled in high school. Ready to step up? A parent or legal guardian must submit an application for you to get started.

Be brave. Be bold. Be a Fire Cadet. Join us and start your journey toward a career that makes a difference—every single day.
