Boys Basketball League 2026 - Ages 8 to 11

  • Basketball league for boys to have fun, be competitive, and stay active
    • 10 regular season games, playoffs, and championship
    • Jersey and shorts included
  • Boys ages 8 to 11; age as of August 31, 2026
    • Age Divisions:
      • 9U – ages 8 to 9; 2nd and 3rd grade
      • 11U – ages 10 to 11; 4th and 5th grade
  • League Dates:
    • Player Evaluations:
      • 9U – Saturday, January 3rd at 10:00 AM
      • 11U – Saturday, January 3rd at 1:00 PM
    • Practices will start the week of January 5th
      • Practice days, times, and locations will be determined by volunteer coaches and will be communicated after teams are chosen
    • Games will start the week of Wednesday, January 28th
      • 9U games played on Thursday evenings and Saturdays
      • 11U games played on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays
  • Championship game and awards day, for both divisions, will be held on Saturday, March 28th  
  • Evaluations, games, and awards day, for both divisions, will be held at the Community Center, 1100 Lyons Road
    • Practices held indoors at either the Community Center or the Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard
  • $130 for Coconut Creek residents; $180 for non-residents
    • To qualify as a Coconut Creek resident, the following must be provided:
      • State-issued driver’s license or valid passport for identification
      • And one of the following as proof of Coconut Creek residency: valid voter’s registration card, water bill, cable bill, or electric bill
        • Bills cannot be more than two months older than the date on which they are submitted as proof of residency
    • Credit card payment only
  • Volunteer coaches needed

    • Application and background screening with fingerprinting required
    • Lack of volunteer coaches could affect the maximum capacity of divisions resulting either in registration of the affected divisions closing prematurely or redistribution of division ages
  • Youth Sports Coach’s Incentive Policy
    • Discount valid for 1 head coach and 1 assistant coach; cannot be combined or stacked
    • Discount is valid for only 1 child per team, per sport; coaching multiple children in different age divisions, within one sport, qualifies for additional discount
    • Coach must attend 80% of games and practices
    • Coach must maintain good sportsmanship solely based on the league coordinator: maintain positivity, refrain from degrading remarks, profanity or unsportsmanlike conduct, no yellow or red cards, and no infractions from referees or league coordinators
    • Coach must attend player evaluations, draft and training. Coaches training and draft will immediately follow player evaluations on Saturday, January 3rd
    • As long as all requirements are met, discount of $50 for head coach and $25 for assistant coach will be applied at the end of the season

    • Registration open from November 1st through December 31st or until full
    • Register online at CoconutCreek.gov/WebTrac or by walk-in at the Community Center or the Recreation Complex
      • You must have a WebTrac account prior to registering online

    • In order that a participant’s age and legal guardianship are visually verified, a copy of their birth certificate may be required to be brought to either walk-in location
